Pantry Package Potluck Portfolio:
Ms. Murphy and I have created some options for you for this portfolio which is in Unit 4 Lesson 11.
Ms. Murphy and I have created some options for you for this portfolio which is in Unit 4 Lesson 11.
- Option 1: Do the portfolio as it is presented in the lesson. The portfolio will ask you to create a recipe that uses 5 ingredients, and the ingredient amounts need to be fractions or mixed numbers. The ingredient amounts need to have at least three different denominators. I recommend making all of the ingredient amounts in ounces. The pdf worksheet for this option is in the lesson.
- Option 2: If you would rather not come up with your own recipe, you can use the pdf worksheet that has a recipe already provided for you. The pdf worksheet for this option was sent to you in a webmail on 9/26/2019. Please contact Mr. Sullivan by webmail if you need the pdf worksheet for this option.
- Option 3: You can take the online practice test and then copy and paste the entire graded test into a word document. Ms. Murphy and I will need to see each item on the practice test and your score. You can upload your word document with the results of your online practice test into the dropbox for the Unit 4 Lesson 11 portfolio. Your grade for the portfolio will be the score earned on the practice test. Click here to take the online practice test for this option.
- Option 4: You can make up your own portfolio to demonstrate that you know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions and mixed numbers. For example, some students have chosen to make a PowerPoint lesson in which they teach how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions and mixed numbers. Other students have made videos explaining how to perform these operations. Still others have made comic books which explain fraction and mixed number operations. This is a great option for students who like to use their creativity and "think outside the box." This option requires prior approval from Mr. Sullivan or Ms. Murphy.

Room Makeover Scale Drawing Portfolio
Ms. Murphy and I have created some options for this portfolio. Please read all the options and then choose one of them to do for this assignment.
Option 1: Do the portfolio as it is presented in the lesson. There is a document below that explains how to make a scale drawing of a room and a pdf with grid paper you can use. This option requires that you make a scale drawing of a room in your house, and then another scale drawing after the remake. You also need a document which is a letter to the “judges” of the contest. It is not a real contest.
Option 2: Make one scale drawing of a room in your house. There is a document below that explains how to make a scale drawing of a room and a pdf with grid paper you can use.
Option 3: You can take the online practice test and then copy and paste the entire graded test into a word document. Ms. Murphy and I will need to see each item on the practice test and your score. You can upload your word document with the results of your online practice test into the dropbox for the unit 6 lesson 10 portfolio. Your grade for the portfolio will be the score earned on that practice test. Click here to take the online practice test for option 3.
